Can you tell us more about ALD Bike, the new product that ALD Automotive is launching?

ALD Automotive is placing innovation at the heart of its activities more than ever before. We set ourselves the task of meeting current market needs as well as shaping the future for mobility alongside it.

In September 2014, when we launched ALD Switch, a product intended for a more flexible mobility budget, combining the leasing of a primary vehicle with the use of other vehicles more specific to occasional needs, we were aiming to offer soft mobility solutions that would play a part in keeping city centre traffic on the move, be environmentally friendly, boost employee well-being and be in step with the new tax regime on benefits in kind.

We subsequently launched two products centred on bikes and scooters in September 2016. The first of these, ALD Company Bike, enables all employees to access scooter or bike leasing, whether or not they are eligible for a company car. A bike leasing contract is independent of a car leasing contract, and includes:

• Bike/scooter financing

services and basic equipment such as:

• theft and damage insurance
• breakdown assistance
• a complete safety kit

other optional services such as:

• maintenance
• extended warranties for electric bikes

Bike leasing or scooter leasing contracts may be taken out for 24, 36 or 48 months, and offer an extensive range of top brands and different models:

• traditional bikes
• folding bikes
• electric bikes / e-bike
• mountain bikes and electric mountain bikes
• road bikes
• hybrid electric bikes

We recently extended our range of leasing solutions to other alternative mobility products, such as foldable electric e-scooters.

ALD Automotive also offers Pool Bike, where companies make a number of bikes available for their employees to use. Could you tell us a bit more about this?

The second product that we offer is ALD Pool Bike, a corporate bike-sharing solution. ALD Automotive offers a complete leasing solution for a fleet of bikes, including:

• a bike rack
• six leased bikes

Plus all the following services and equipment:

• theft and damage insurance
• breakdown assistance
• comprehensive bike maintenance
• extended warranty for electric bikes (beyond 24 months)
• a replacement bike service
• six safety kits (helmets, hi-vis jackets, wheel reflectors, locks, front and rear lights)
• panniers
• lettering, etc.

Two types of bike rack are available:

• a version more suitable for indoor locations (basements, covered car parks, sheds, etc.
• a high-security version more suitable for outdoor use, which is fully enclosed and lockable

Pool Bike company leasing contracts may be taken out for 24, 36 or 48 months, and offer an extensive range of top brands and different models: Cannondale, Orbea, GoCycle, Diamond, Tern, etc.
