CHARITY EVENING OF ALD AUTOMOTIVE LUXEMBOURG

A charitable, responsible commitment by all members of staff

Each year, ALD Automotive staff members don their aprons and roll up their sleeves to organise an informal barbecue then invite and serve their clients, suppliers and partners. This event is a way for them to get involved and contribute to their company’s CSR policy.

But the fifth edition of the charity evening held on 30 November 2017 took on a new form! The traditional late-summer barbecue was replaced with a Winterparty, which once again proved to be a fun event enjoyed by all. Nearly 300 people accepted the invitation!

The wintry menu included a Tartiflette accompanied by Christmas beer and mulled wine to warm up guests, followed by pancakes and desserts to delight food lovers. Entertainment was provided for children.

“Ensemble pour Célia”, the charity supported by ALD Automotive in 2017

Every year, the proceeds raised at this charity event go to the Charity of the Year selected by ALD staff members. The charity chosen in 2017 was Ensemble pour Célia.

Célia is a 10 year-old girl with a rare disease that causes major physical disabilities, among other symptoms. As well as it being difficult to obtain an accurate diagnosis of this type of rare disease, it can be hard for families to obtain equipment adapted to their child’s special needs. Ensemble pour Célia raises money to fund equipment for Célia and other sick children. The charity sets aside an average of 20% of its funds to finance special equipment for schools and families with disabled children.

Vélocenter Goedert, a committed partner!

A raffle was also held during the Winterparty to raise money for the charity. Vélocenter Goedert, a bicycle store and partner of the raffle, donated the first prize – a Booster e-bike worth €950. Congratulations to Kelly Ribeiro, who won this first prize!

We would like to thank our many clients, suppliers and employees for their support. Thanks to their generosity, we wrote a cheque for €3,750 to the “Ensemble pour Célia” charity.

Save the date 2018

Staff at ALD Luxembourg have already chosen the charity that will receive the same honour in 2018. ALD Luxembourg’s commitments to society derive from the generosity of all its employees.

The next Charity Evening in support of a new charity will be held in November 2018.
